"Secure
ID. Secure Future."
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need this service?
Your most valuable asset is you. Identity Theft is the fastest growing
crime in America. Today's technology and old work habits make it easy
for criminals to obtain your information and create false identities,
checks, bank accounts, and credit cards in your name. You need to take
the necessary steps to protect you and your family. All of your other
assets are protected, and it is now necessary and time to protect your
identity. myIDprotector is the only proactive service to help you prevent
identity theft, and extremely reactive in the event your identity is stolen.
All for a less than you pay for your daily newspaper.
What do I get with this service?
With myIDprotector.com, you get peace of mind that our company will take
care of you in the unfortunate event that your identity is stolen. In
allowed states, we will assist you in locking your credit reports so that
NO ONE can access them or your private and confidential information. myIDprotector.com
will remove any fraudulent activity from your credit report and restore
it to its original condition. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter
on tips and strategies on how to protect yourself to the maximum level
and still function in today's modern society.
Why should I give my confidential information to myIDprotector.com?
myIDprotector.com will NEVER collect your private or confidential information
unless you file a claim that your identity has been stolen. Once the claim
is processed and your identity restored, the associated documents will
be shredded and your confidential information will be erased from our
hard drives per the US Department of Defense Data Security Standard DoD
5220.22 M standard.
All you need to sign up with our service is your name, email address,
physical address, and answer a few personal (but non-confidential) questions.
This information will help us verify your identity at a later date in
case it is stolen. We do this to add another level of protection to you
and your identity. We do not need your confidential information in order
for you to have the peace of mind that your identity is protected. Any
service that requires your confidential information to register is just
another possible source of identity theft.
Why should I sign up with myIDprotector?
Our job is to protect your identity. We do not collect confidential information
unless you file an identity theft claim. We do this to further protect
your identity. We take your Identity Protection seriously.
In the event of Identity Theft, we work on your behalf with all three
credit bureaus to remove fraudulent items. Most services will only do
one bureau.
What do you mean by "locking" my credit report?
A few states (Colorado, California, Nevada, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine,
Florida) have recently passed legislation to protect consumers by allowing
them to lock their credit reports. This prevents thieves from applying
for new credit under your name and purchasing fraudulent goods. Only you
can unlock your credit report. We will provide you with the necessary
steps to lock your credit files, but only YOU have the access code to
unlock it. myIDprotector will never ask for this information. Our job
is to help you secure your identity, not be another possible source for
identity theft.
If my identity is stolen, how do I file a claim?
To file a claim you can call our toll free number 888-546-2808, or visit
our web site at www.myidprotector.com. By filing a claim we can begin
to reestablish your identity. You can download the necessary forms, or
we can express deliver them to you. The necessary steps are included on
our web site and in our Welcome Packet. You will need to sign affidavits,
get them notarized, and forward them to us as soon as possible. If your
identity is stolen, then we will need to collect your confidential information
to assist you in restoring your credit files. This information will be
securely protected, and destroyed 30 days after your identity is restored
per the US Department of Defense Data Security Standard DoD 5220.22 M
procedure.
Why don’t you believe in credit monitoring?
Giving your confidential information to an independent 3rd party
for the purposes of watching your credit files creates yet another source
for identity theft. We don’t believe in taking that risk. No matter
how reliable the institution, their employees have access to your information
and are capable of stealing this same information. One recent study indicates
more than 20% of identity theft occurs from stolen information from reputable
companies. We recommend keeping your confidential information confidential.
Occasionally checking your credit report to verify nothing unusual is
happening is common sense and a good practice.
What is your Return Policy?
Once you purchase our comprehensive protection, you have 24
hours to change your mind and receive a full refund. Your satisfaction
is our first priority.
